Badan Pengawas Perdagangan Berjangka Komoditi
Badan Pengawas Perdagangan Berjangka Komoditi or Bappebti was established based on the Law No. 32 Year 1997 concerning Commodity Futures Trading which is one of the first echelon units under the Department of Industry and Trade.
Based on the Section 79 Law No. 32 Year 1997, before Bappebti was officially established based on the Law No. 32 Year 1997, the task, function, and authority of Bappebti was carried out by Badan Pelaksana Bursa Komoditi or Bapebti which was established based on the Government Rules No. 35 Year 1982 concerning Commodity Exchange, under the Department of Trading. Therefore, in its entity, the current Bappebti is actually the transfer of function from Badan Pelaksana Bursa Komoditi (Bapebti).
Bappebti (with 2 "P") was officially established on 27 September 1999 based on the President Decree No. 115 Year 1999 which is later revised few times and the last revision was the President Decree No. 37 Year 2001. The organizational structure and job description of the also undergone few revisions and the last one was based on the Decree of Minister of Industry and Trade No: 86/MPP/Kep/3/2001 concerning the Organization and Working Rules of the Department of Industry and Trade. Based on the Decree of Minister of Industry and Trade No: 86/MPP/Kep/3/2001, the organizational structure of Bappebti consists of 4 2nd echelon officials (Secretary of the Board, Chief of Legal Bureau, Chief of Trade Bureau, and Chief of Market Analysis Bureau), 15 3rd echelon officials (Head of Unit), and 43 4th echelon officials (Head of Sub Unit).
BAPPEBTI was established for the following purposes :
- Creating an efficient and fair condition in the competitive futures trading.
- Maintain the purposes of each party involved in the futures trading activities.
- Maintain the futures trading as the price risk management and creating the transparent price.
